1.Apearance of Eyong
It has the unique ripple marks of sycamore, and the silver light pattern is remarkable. The heartwood is indistinct, and the wood is grayish-yellow-white or fawn-yellow. Single tube hole and 2 to 3 radial multiple tube holes. The axial parenchyma is band-shaped and densely arranged, and the longitudinal section shows light-colored stripes formed by the axial parenchyma with crystals. The rays are very high, with obvious silver patterns on the radial section, different type III and different type II, with sheath cells, but not very obvious, marginal cells contain crystals, the pits between the rays and the vessels are roughly the same as the pits between the vessels . Ripple marks are mainly formed by overlapping parenchyma cells in the axial direction. May have axial trauma gum tract.
2. Characteristic
The texture is staggered to slightly staggered. Slightly coarse to coarse. Heavy and hard to slightly heavy and hard, with an air-dry density of 0.64-0.88g/cm3.
3. Pricing/Availability
Eyong is not expansive and is sometimes only seen in veneer form.
4. Sustainability
Poor drying performance, low durability, not suitable for general use. But because of its silver pattern, it can be sliced into wood veneer for decorative purposes.
